Counselling takes place when a counsellor and client meet on a regular basis, in a safe place, to explore whatever issues the client wants to talk about.
Counselling can be helpful for anyone who feels that they need to talk about private and personal issues. It can be invaluable to be really listened to and supported by a professionally trained therapist whose aim is not to impose their own ideas upon you but to help you make sense of your thoughts and feelings, however challenging, and to offer acceptance in a confidential and non-judgemental relationship.
